The Blue Anchor is an iconic pub in West London. In prime position on the banks of the river Thames in Hammersmith, The Blue Anchor is always warm and welcoming.
It’s a home away from home whether you’re after a riverside drink in the sunshine or a warming glass of Malbec by an open fire. A short walk from Hammersmith Bridge, The Blue Anchor was first licensed in 1722 and is still a true local’s pub some 300 years later. Downstairs is traditional, wood panelled 17th century pub, while upstairs you’ll find the beautifully refurbished ‘River Room’, with incredible views of the river.
Our food menu offers classic pub favourites with a twist, freshly prepared every day. Our bar serves a range of cocktails which have been carefully curated to surprise and delight. You can also hire our lavish function rooms for your private event in Hammersmith.

Bel locale con vista Tamigi
Locale lontano da ogni percorso turistico. I clienti sono prevalentemente giovani inglesi. Ci si va, prevalentemente per bere, ma ha una ottima cucina, quindi, se volete cenare, è perfetto. La location, sulla riva del Tamigi, è spettacolare.
Awesome location, good drinks and delicious food
Awesome food, good drinks but service is slow and the waiter kept forgetting to come back to us, we had to stand up and search someone to order our food and more drinks.
Keema lamb scotch egg was a highlight.
Very good food here. Lamb keema scotch egg was a very interesting and novel concept that was absolutely delicious. We sat in a window seat in the upstairs restaurant, which had great views over the river. Definitely worth a trip if in London.

Great service
Adam provided excellent service despite our late arrival, accommodating us for dinner. The meal was great, we went for the fish and chips and turkey. The portion sizes were generous, and the pub had a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Great pub
This is a great pub on the banks of the Thames. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The cider was nice and dry and cold and the wine was very good too. Service was friendly and good too.
Wonderful lunch with a Thames View !!!!
We visited the pub for a Sunday Roast. The food was excellent and the service we received was absolutely top !!! Absolutely loved sitting outside with the water view. Seriously well done. We will be back !!!!

Excellent location, great service and tasty food
Love this pub with its views of Hammersmith Bridge and the river. Ate here recently and the food was delicious: duck salad, sea bream and prawn tempura. Service is excellent.

Second time here, this place has a laid back charm that others along this stretch haven’t got. Food is of high standard for pub grub. Nice end to a great weekend. Definitely worth a visit.

Great Pub
Dropped in for a drink after visiting town. Great location on the river front next to Tower Bridge, but typical London prices. Very popular.
Great pub right on the river
Fabulous pub grub, really friendly and helpful service, brilliant location on the river and dog friendly too. We were a big group of 10 on a grey wet dreary winters day but the warm welcome and excellent food had us all cheered up in no time!
